Sustainable Travel Options

We encourage all participants to choose a sustainable travel option when planning their journey to BCF. There’s a variety of good international train and Coach connections to Berlin. There are also a couple of night trains available, that may bring you comfortably to Berlin while being asleep. Sleeping compartments are very popular, so make sure you are booking in time. We have adjusted the conference schedule to make sure all night train connections could be used.

To help you plan, we’ve come up with an overview of existing train connections.

The venue

When Berlin was divided after the war, the UFA film labs were separated from the studios, now in East Germany, and the historic film labs were to be demolished. A group of young enthusiasts saw an opportunity to implement their ideas for a community-oriented, and environmentally-friendly way of life. They took over the 18,500 square metre tract in June 1979 to put it “back in action” peacefully. This was the beginning the of self-governing project known today as the “International Culture Centre ufaFabrik Berlin”.

Approximately 30 residents and over 180 employees come together to live and work with one another. Internationality, sustainability, self-reliance, and self-realization have always been the ideals of ufaFabrik, and the way in which members not only approach each other, but their neighbours as well – long since before “work-life balance”, “networking”, and “sustainability” became cultural buzzwords.

Safety & Accessibility

When participating at the Berlin Campaign Forum, we want you to feel safe and fully focus on your experience. That’s why we are working hard to ensure the BCF is and stays a safe event for everyone participating. We are also doing or best to make it accessible to most people.

Here’s the concrete steps we are taking:

Immune vulnerable and COVID-19 safety policy

We will be taking different steps to ensure this is a safe event for immune vulnerable people, including:

O2 metres: Those will be provided for each seminar room so participants can monitor the levels and act independently if needed.
Ventilated seat priority: Seats by doors (to outdoors) can be reserved for vulnerable people.
Solo/distanced dining area: A distanced or even separate eating (and coffee break) area can be arranged.
Disinfectant: All rooms have hand disinfectant available.
Testing: We encourage all participants to test before joining the event using a COVID lateral flow test. Lateral flow tests will also be made available at the event reception desk. If you test positive and won’t be able to join, you can send a substitute. Be sure to have a person lined up as refunds less than 15 days before the event are not possible (due to the venue cancellation deadlines)
FFP2 masks: Mask wearing is supported and encouraged. Extras will be available at the event reception desk if needed.

Code of Conduct

We are dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, age, race, or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form.
For more information, please see our code of conduct.

Privacy

We are ensuring transparency when handling your data, starting with the event photography (there are special lanyards for anyone who doesn’t want their picture taken) to contact details (we will not share them with sponsors or other participants unless you agree).
For more information, please see our privacy policy.

Event Terms

See more information on our terms and conditions.

Physical Disability

The venue provides a ramp and accessible toilets. All the rooms used during the event will be accessible to people with physical disabilities. If you have any special needs concerning that, please contact us beforehand. We’ll try to ensure accesibility for everyone.

Visual/Hearing Disability

If you have a visual or hearing disability, please let us know beforehand. We will instruct all participants and presenters especially on how to increase accessibility for you.
